DAVID JULIA - TREY WANVIG
They've come home to roost and ENTERTAIN us. David & Trey are TVBS scholarship recipients and all 3 are well on their way to stardom. Though young in age each is skilled in the craft of THE BLUES. Below is a brief bio on each.
DAVID JULIA: Still in his teens and dead serious about the blues. He began performing at the age of 7, and over the next ten years has grown into a blues powerhouse who is beginning to establish himself far beyond his FLORIDA HOME. David has been touring regionally and has participated in the Memphis-based Blues Foundation International Blues Challenge four years in a row, drawing rave notices from the worldwide crowd.
TREY WANVIG: An 19-year-old blues guitarist and vocalist from Sarasota, Florida. Trey has won the regional blues challenge for both the Southwest Florida Blues Society and the Orange Blossom Blues Society in 2017, 2018, and 2019, which allowed him to compete at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in both the youth showcase and the adult solo / duo category.
Trey has performed at numerous blues and music festivals including the Waterfront Blues Festival, Bradenton Blues Festival, Tall City Blues Fest, Dunedin Wines the Blues, Blues From the Top, the Dallas International Guitar Festival, and Giving Hunger the Blues. Trey has also played at many legendary blues clubs and music venues around the country including B.B. King's on Beale Street in Memphis, Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida, and even aboard the Allure of the Seas, one of Royal Caribbean's "Oasis Class" mega cruise ships. In May of 2018, he was one of only 10 guitar players across the country invited to play at the Dallas International Guitar Festival's 10 Under 20 Event.
